Oh hai disappointment.
Not that I had particularly high expectations for this album, but still. I definitely didn’t think it would be complete garbage.
Wtf is this? Seriously.

To think, the legendary album is only a year and a half younger than me… which means it’ll be old enough to legally drink in the US next year ;)
And say what you wanna say about Metallica, yeah this album was what steered them away from the genre they labeled, patented and put on the market. But honestly, there are so many solid fucking songs on this album. Not to mention, this was honestly probably one of the most well done albums in a sonic sense. The sound is so crisp and clear and fucking flawless.
Day 07 - The song that made you fall in love with METAL
Cliche`, I know. But wasn’t Metallica everyone’s first? Didn’t everyone pop their cherry to the shit-tastic guitar playing of the one and only Kirk Hammet? Didn’t we all go through a phase where we thought “Nobody’s better than Lars.” Didn’t we all?
I’ll even admit it, there was a point in life where I thought “Fuel” and “Enter Sandman” were like the heaviest songs ever… but I was 11.
All I have to say is props to my cousin JoJo for pulling me out of my ‘Nsync phase and uttering the words “Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Ozzy.” Also, props to my cousin JoJo for making sure I didn’t get raped when I had alcohol poisoning on my 21st birthday. But that’s an entirely different story…..
So here it is,”Master of Puppets.” Because let’s face it, nothing completed my angsty 7th grader routine like blasting the shit out of this album while I painted my nails black and cut up a pair of my flared jeans (yuck).

After a slew of successful shows in Europe last year, the four father’s of thrash metal united last night for the first time in the states to play the long anticipated Big Four show in Indio, California.
Here’s fan filmed footage of Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeth, and various members of Slayer performing Diamond Head’s “Am I Evil?” for the grand finale of the concert.

I really wish Lady Gaga broke out into dance to Metal Militia when I saw her at the Garden. Like wtf I miss everything awesome.
I’m sick of these new wave thrash bands shamelessly ripping off well-established and fore-fronting bands like Metallica, Testament, Megadeth, etc. For instance, this song by Fatal Embrace was signed and released in 2010. Don’t be fooled, it actually isn’t a cover of Metallica’s 1986 “Damage Inc” off of Master of Puppets. (It’s even got a touch of “Battery” going on). Also, notice the “Massive Aggressive” lyric….. Municipal Waste rip-offs? Really?
This is fucking disgusting. This is why the attempts to revive classic metal genres only go so far. This isn’t the first or only band to do this. Listen to Warbringer’s “Jackal” and tell me the intro isn’t strangely reminiscent of Testament’s “First Strike Is Deadly.”
